Customer Interface Unit
The CIU is a keypad-based display unit installed within the tenants/users premises when the main keypad meter is installed. Each tenant will have a customized CIU linked to their meter. It enables tenants/users to load credit bought to the meter by wireless or power line communication (PLC), providing convenience to the consumer.
The CIU utilizes short codes to access relevant information from the meter including current credit balance, power consumed per month, credit alarm level and the last power purchased. The Customer interface unit (CIU) is used to load credit, and check credit balance remotely.
